Tesla Model 3 Blackout Package with Gloss Black Rims and Custom Tiffany Blue Brake Calipers
This black Tesla Model 3 came in with a clear direction.
The owner wanted the car fully blacked out but still needed something to break it up. The brief was simple. Clean, aggressive, and different without looking overdone.
What We Did:
We started by removing all four wheels from the car. This is non-negotiable if you want a proper finish.
The rims were prepped properly before paint.
That means sanding, cleaning, and making sure the surface is ready to hold paint long term, not just look good for a few weeks.
The rims were then repainted in a gloss black finish. Getting gloss black right is not about just spraying it.
You need even coverage across the face and inner barrel, especially on Tesla wheels where the design exposes more of the inner surfaces. Any inconsistency stands out straight away.
From there, we moved onto the brake calipers.
The owner chose a Tiffany blue, but not an off-the-shelf version.
We mixed a custom colour to get the exact tone he wanted. Once matched, we applied a 2K brake paint system.
This is important. Standard paint will not hold up to heat cycles. 2K gives durability, chemical resistance, and a proper finish that lasts.
After curing, we applied decals to the calipers to finish the look.
Placement and alignment matter here. If it is off even slightly, it looks cheap.
We also replaced all exterior badges with black versions to complete the blackout theme. Small detail, but it ties everything together.
The car had previously been ceramic coated by another shop.
That coating was not part of this job and was addressed later. This stage was focused purely on visual transformation through paint and detailing work.
Most people think blacking out a car is simple. It is not. Gloss black shows everything. Any imperfection in prep or paint stands out immediately. Same with brake calipers. If the paint system is wrong, it will fade, chip, or discolour under heat.
Doing it properly means removing parts, using the right materials, and taking time on prep. That is the difference between something that looks good for photos and something that still looks right months later.
The custom Tiffany blue calipers break up the black without overpowering it. It gives the car a focal point while still keeping the overall theme clean.
Key Takeaways:
• Proper wheel removal and prep is critical for long-lasting rim repainting
• Gloss black is unforgiving and exposes poor workmanship immediately
• 2K brake paint is required for durability under heat
• Custom colour matching gives a more refined result than off-the-shelf options
• Small details like badges complete the overall look
Clean execution, no shortcuts, and everything tied together properly.
That is how you approach a blackout if you want it done right.
